MARAPAWA 4ply & 8ply Merino / Arapawa Yarn

Hand-dyed, 75% Merino / 25% Arapawa Yarn.
4ply, 100g skeins/approx 368m. Needles 3-4.5 mm.
8ply, 100g skeins/approx 240m. Needles 4.5-6 mm.  

A wonderful yarn spun here in NZ – merino blended with arapawa, a NZ rare breed. It's a very soft yarn, marled in a variegated style which creates darker and lighter shades through the knitted fabric. The yarn is woollenspun and due to this construction it's very plump. The 4ply knits as 4-5ply (fingering/sport) or even light 8ply (DK). The 8ply knits as 8-10ply (DK/aran). Works very well for cables and beautiful for stranded and fair isle knitting. Suitable for garments, hats, scarves, mittens and big, cosy shawls. This yarn is not superwash treated.
